  1. What's an ISBN?
  2. ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. An ISBN is a ten or thirteen-digit code used to identify a book. Each book has its own ISBN. You can find the ISBN on the back of a book near the barcode or on the copyright page.

    Always enter the ISBN without dashes and don't leave off the leading zeros. Sometimes an ISBN can end with an X.

    In the example below, the ISBN is 0072229691.

  3. How do I sell my books?
  4. Selling your books takes 4 easy steps:

    • Step 1 - Enter the ISBN of a book you want to sell then click "Sell It".
    • Step 2 - Update the quantities and click "Update". Then repeat Step 1 for any additional books you have to sell.
    • Step 3 - Click "Finish". Then enter your name and address information. Click "Continue".
    • Step 4 - Print your packing list and mailing label. Box up your books and mail them to us.


    That's it! Drop your books by the post office and you're on your way to having a check in your hand.

  5. How do you determine the price you will pay me for my books?

    Our price quotes are based on the nationwide demand for the book and current stock availability. However, the buyback prices quoted at checkout are guaranteed only if your books are shipped within 7 days.

  6. Do I have to pay for shipping?
  7. No! Not if you use our prepaid label and the U.S. Postal Service. We have prepaid for your shipping. Be sure to print the prepaid mailing label and attach it to the package you are sending your books in. If you do not use the prepaid mailing label we provide, you must ship the books at your own expense.

  8. Do I need a seperate order for each box I send?
  9. Yes. We suggest making a separate order and printing a packing list for each box of books sent. Not doing so may delay processing your buyback, as this helps the receiving process run more smoothly as the packages arrive.

  10. How long does it take to process my order?
  11. Packages sent media mail could sometimes take up to three weeks to arrive at our location.  Order processing may take a little longer depending on where you are shipping from and if it is during one of our busiest times of the year.

  12. Is my package insured?
  13. No. Our prepaid mailing label pays for USPS Media Mail only. If you would like to insure your package or receive a delivery confirmation, you may do so at your own expense. However, please be aware that you will also have to pay for the shipping if you chose to purchase the services. The USPS will not allow the use of our prepaid postage label when you purchase additional services. Remember to package your books securely, in a box preferably. We are not responsible for items lost in the mail.

  14. What happens if I don’t include a book on the packing slip, or if I pack the wrong book or a different edition?
  15. If we receive a package that appears to be missing an item or contains a book not on the packing slip, we will notify you via e-mail/telephone and inform you of the problem (in some cases, there may be damage to the package, for instance).  We will hold your buyback and wait for a reply for 14 days, after which time we will process your order if no contact has been made.
    Please note that WeBuyTextbooks cannot pay for items that arrive damaged (bent, torn, wet, stained, mangled, etc.).  The books will be examined and accepted or declined based on the condition received.  See our packaging guidelines for help in preventing damaged packages and missing books.
    Once again, we will attempt to contact you if we find your book is unacceptable, so please make sure your name, address, phone number and email address are correct and up-to-date. If you want your book back, we will ask that you send us a money order or PayPal payment in the amount of $4 per book. If we do not hear from you or receive the money order or PayPal payment after two weeks, the book(s) will be discarded or donated.

  16. What books do you NOT purchase?
  17. We can only purchase books that we will be able to resell.

    We can NOT accept:

    • Books that are water damaged, molded or mildewed
    • Books that have missing pages
    • Books that have missing covers
    • Books that have excessive highlighting, underlining or marginalia
    • Study guides, lab manuals, and other fill-in books with answers written in them
    • International editions
    • Review copies
    • Free copies
    • Facsimile copies
    • Custom editions
    • Complimentary copies
    • Instructor’s editions
    • Annotated editions

    Decisions regarding the condition of books we receive rest solely with WeBuyTextbooks.  All decisions are final. 

  18. What do you do with unacceptable books? Are they returned?
  19. We will attempt to contact you if we find your book is unacceptable, so please make sure your name, address, phone number and email address are correct and up-to-date. If you want your book back, we will ask that you send us a money order or PayPal payment in the amount of $4 per book. If we do not hear from you or receive the money order or PayPal payment after two weeks, the book(s) will be discarded or donated.

  22. Do I have to include the software that came with my book?
  23. We prefer that books sold to us have the original software. Books tend to be worth more when the software is included. The listing of the books should indicate the value of the books with and without the disk or other software. If you find a title that is not priced without the disk, then we are not buying that title without the disk.

  24. What paperwork do I need to include in my package?
  25. You must include a copy of the packing slip we provide for you.

  26. How will I get my money?
  27. We will process your payment within 2 business days of receiving your books. You can choose to have your payment mailed to you via check or electronically sent via PayPal.

    PayPal is a widely popular service that allows you to receive money electronically and transfer the money to a regular bank account or mail the money to you in the form of a check.  The money can also be left in the PayPal account to be used for future online transactions. All that is needed to begin receiving and sending payments via PayPal is an e-mail address.

    WeBuyTextbooks encourages buyback customers to choose PayPal for their payments, as not only is it faster and more convenient than having a check mailed out, but it is also much more secure.   29. No, we only accept books from individuals residing inside the United States.

  30. How can I reprint my packing list or shipping label?
  31. Use this link: Reprint my packing list/shipping label. Note: you must have your Buyback Confirmation ID to reprint your packing list/shipping label.

  32. How can I find the status of my buyback?
  33. You can check your buyback status here (http://www.webuytextbooks.com/dsp_status.cfm). You will need BOTH your Buy Back Number and E-mail address, so have them handy.

  34. How does your affiliate program work?
  35. We will process your payment within 2 business days of receiving your books. You can choose to have your payment mailed to you via check or electronically sent via PayPal.
